Fantastic illustrations and I loved the input from various people who reside in Fablehaven.

A really great companion/refresher to the Fablehaven series while whetting the appetite for Dragonwatch!!

This is a great book by itself, but it's even better reading this while I'm rereading the Fablehaven series to prepare for Dragonwatch.

This was so fun to look through. I loved reading more about the characters, creatures, and places in the Fablehaven books. My favorite parts were the handwritten notes by Kendra, Seth, and other characters in the margins of the book.

This book made me want to reread Fablehaven series. It also made me crazy excited for the new companion series that will start coming out next year!

Won a free copy through Goodreads FirstReads! (After I had read the book)

Very nice illustrations throughout the book. Some of the entries were so short and lacking in any real information that they seem somewhat worthless, but there were some entries long and packed with neat details. I liked the creatures that I could not remembering hearing of, in mythology or otherwise, or that especially intrigued me, such as:

Peryton - Winged stag

Stingbulb - Plant that makes a clone of someone

Alcetaur - Moose centaur The mythological nation animal of Canada

Astrid - Man-owls

Overall, worth paging through, even if you weren't a big fan of the Fablehaven series.

For the type of guidebook this was intended to be, it was pretty good. That said, it didn't include any real information (other than pictures) that you wouldn't have gleaned from reading the series. It also offered hints to the next Brandon Mull series, but I found them predictable (dragons in a series called DragonWatch - what?!?!) but maybe for kids in love with Fablehaven, this would be a revelation. Looking forward to the next series - I do love dragons.
