i’ve been bamboozled by you people for the last time. i was so bored. this book was such a product of its time. twilight is as equally compelling a love story as this (derogatory).

3.5 stars. I found the characters a little bit cold and emotionless for most of the book even though there were some extremely emotionally charged things going on. The last chapter was the exception and gave this a solid heartfelt ending. Battle scenes are vivid and gory.

This was a lovely story. I am a huge fan of Greek history, so it took me awhile to warm up to the ideas in the novel. But, the battles and tension are well written and the characters are very loveable. 
The relationship development through the novel is really well paced and never feels out of place.

this book deserves every last piece of praise it is sung: it’s wonderfully written and it depicts a classic tale. it didn’t destroy me emotionally (although i’m sure i’m still recovering from a little life) but it was good. reading about love is always refreshing & it’s so wonderful to know people feel similar things that i feel towards dan. (tacky i know)
