Since the anime is my favourite of all times, I could not possibly not love the manga as well. Yato and basically each and every character in the manga, are adorable and darkly complex. Since this is the first volume, I can't see any character development yet, but the backgrounds of their past are promising. Finally, the art is very good and suits the story.
*******UPDATE**********
Since I've finished the whole manga series, or at least up to volume 18, as the rest isn't out yet, here is my review for the whole series:
4 out of 5 stars for Noragami
I loved the art, the characters and the story. Even though it was slow at some points, it really had it all, mystery, action, and some love, as well as humor and fantasy parts. Recommended for those who enjoy a good manga and love action and comedy themes.

I watched the anime back when it aired but never had the chance to read the manga! Thankfully, thanks to Kodansha first volume sale I got this one! And it was great fun to read! Hiyori and Yato are such fab characters and I am glad I could see them again. I definitely would like to read more of this series and get to know everyone again, it has been a while! I love the spooky things, love that Yato is just taking 5 yen coins (boo, if you want a shrine you better get more money). Though Yukine... *sighs* I remember he was quite unlikeable in the beginning.

I love the thought that a homeless God needs to do odd job just so he can be remembered and keep on living.

Wow, what a great introduction to the series! I've already read up to volume 20, but I wanted to go back and start from the beginning since it's been so long since I read it. That and this is part of my rereading project where I revist my older titles to see if they still hold up today. And I can say with absolute certainty that if they rest of the series is like this, it will!

Despite all of the exposition, it never seemed forced and there was enough action and other dialogue to break it up. The characters are all awesome and I love, love, love the world! I'm a huge fan of Japanese folklore, so getting an entire series devoted to all aspects of it is a dream come true!

Loved this, ready for volume 2!

Such a great first installment- I loved reading this! It was an excellent blend of humor, action, monsters, and lore. I’ll definitely be continuing to read Noragami. 👍
