Reverse harem alien romance

This was reverse harem alien romance which featured some non-consensual scenes, which might not appeal to some readers. I myself did not enjoy the steam because of the non-consensual element. I just don't find it sexy when a woman is being treated with contempt and being groped against her will, even if she reaches multiple climaxes. However to be fair, it made sense within the context of the story. Overall though, I enjoyed it.

This was my first rh book and I truly enjoyed it. The world Lizzy created is just wonderful and I can't wait to read more.

The writing is fairly strong, but the
noncon
was not resolved to my satisfaction at all. It got glossed over
with little to no actual relationship building
which disappointed me a lot although the story and world were still engaging. There were moments where another writer might have rushed through to get to the action but I appreciate when characters think their options through rather than just go fast for plot reasons and so long to whatever critical intelligence the characters had up until this point.

I read some reviews saying these guys were mean. I didn’t get that at all. Maybe if you have never read a book that would be considered dark (even just slightly) you might find these guys mean. They we’re barely even morally grey by my standards.

I really enjoyed this book, I thought it was unique and I was engaged in the world and the plot. It’s like a fun little surprise when a spicy book has a good story as well as spicy, you don’t always get both haha.

This was hard to get through

This book had a lot of ups and downs for me but overall was okay to read. Around 60% into the book, things start getting better, the romance builds, and all questions are answered.

OK, so for more than half of this book was exceedingly hard for me to get through because of the amount of back-to-back mind-blowing trauma that is eventually just washed away rather than worked through all of it.

That doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of the second half of the book because beyond the trauma, when all our characters finally, you know they fall in love, it’s fantastic. But getting to that point of the book was very hard. This situation of initial trauma is the case for a lot of alien romances, so I want to warn you before you dive into this book.

Our main character Corie is a journalist trying to save her career. In disguise on a planet that sells miracle pills to stave off disease and promote longevity. However, she uncovers a horrible secret, and her world is turned upside down.

Now I’m for a whole endangered species saving story; however, this was a lot. It was hard to like the male leads, but it wasn’t hard to sympathize with them. But, I don't have a favorite male lead in this book.
