I loved this book just as much as friends have told me that I would. Gideon has absolutely won my heart. I liked the snarky prose, and the setting is incredibly well thought through.

How many times can I say "oh boy, I hope that x doesn't die!" Just for x to die immediately. Also, there's a glossary and a lot of world building in the guide at the back of the book that would have been so helpful if it were at the front.

I listened to this audiobook in less than 24 hours. Mathematically, this is impossible, and I don't know what to say except that I had no idea what was happening in this book and I didn't care 99% of the time.

I'm going to find the sequel. Bye.
