I really liked the main two characters, world building, and plot. A really good mix of fantasy and science. It took me a while to get into the book, though, with all the different characters. Maybe I should have used the glossary in the beginning more. I'm still very invested in reading the rest of the series.

This was a weird book club pick that I didn’t want to read and then I cried at the end which means I guess I’m reading the next one! It was kind of hard to get into, and I wish I knew about the glossary at the end. But there were a lot of mysteries and I did want to see how they played it. Idk it’s a weird one and it was pretty gross sometimes but I got invested so 4 stars I guess!!

I have a lot of feelings about Gideon the Ninth. I think this is a very well written book that respects the readers time and intelligence. Muir rights with a tight pace that manages to keep an air of mystery and tension throughout. All that being said, I just had a hard time connecting with this book. My major gripe throughout this read was the lack of pay off from the world building, but I have faith that I will enjoy the next entry in the series much more.

I LOVE THIS FUCKING BOOK I LOVE THIS FUCKING BOOK
gideon nav is a new all time favorite fictional character of mine i LOVE her
i want to put into words what makes this book so incredible but i'm struggling to think of anything but: hilarious narrator, lesbians,
enemies to lovers
, GIDEON NAV, actual plot twists, religious symbolism, lots of feelings, amazing side characters, and did i mention gideon nav??

if you like fantasy, read this book. if you want your heart crushed, read this book.

I loved this book just as much as friends have told me that I would. Gideon has absolutely won my heart. I liked the snarky prose, and the setting is incredibly well thought through.
