4.25/5 🌟
Hazel is 2 months away from her 30th birthday and she feels stuck. She hasn’t done anything exciting with her life and she wants that to change. Then someone starts leaving her clues in books and it might be the push she needs to finally step outside her comfort zone she enlists the help of Noah, the sexy good time fisherman, to follow the clues and have the best send off to her twenties she could hope for.
I really loved the first half of this book. I felt an immediate connection to Hazel and couldn’t wait to read more about her and Noah’s adventures. It was cute and fun seeing Noah break her out of her shell!
Just past the halfway point I thought things started to get really repetitive. I thought the same thing was happening with the adventures and it made some parts read as kinda awkward because (to me) it felt a little forced. I was so relieved at the end when they finally had a real conversation about how they felt and stopped assuming they knew what the other was thinking!
All in all I really did enjoy this one!
I highly recommend this one if you enjoy a bad boy x good girl romance where he falls first and a HEA!

Compared to the first book, the story, characters, and writing are WAY better. It's still a cheesy guilty pleasure read, but it was one I enjoyed. I was far more invested in the story because I liked the people in it and found them to be more relatable and complex. As readers of a cozy small-town romance series, Hazel is someone we can relate to, whereas absolutely no one from the big city would ever inherit a cafe in a perfect town (sorry Hallmark Jeanie). And how could we not fantasize about Noah the sexy fisherman who is a reformed f*** boy with a heart of gold?
This is also definitely enjoyable to read in fall because it's an "end of summer" book that talks a lot about the holidays and we even get a Thanksgiving scene. I'll be reading the next one for fun and I hope the writing is on par with this one.
