Fascinating fellow. However, some of his stories about his superhuman feats of hearing and such read more like a Superman comic book than reality. Regardless of any stretching of the truth; he was, without question, a superhuman inventor, and that should count for something I think.
Interesting to get Tesla’s own words. An amazing man but this book is short and offers more personal details than real inventions.
Such a bizarre book. Tesla was an eccentric and it's clearly seen in his writing. Incoherent thoughts, jumping up and down the timeline, unclear writing.
Neither did he explain enough about his inventions in the book, nor did he speak much of his personal life.
Was at least able to get through it in two hours though.

Tesla was a genius ahead of his time, and I had no clue, until I stumbled across it at a library, that he had written an autobiography. Some of his claims about his own life seem unbelievable, and it would have been nice to have either more details or some corroborating evidence. Furthermore, it is hard to diagnose health and psyche from a book, but it sounds like he may have (at least occasionally) suffered from migraines with auras and might have also had OCD, and maybe others. The title is misleading, in that this book is mostly about his life and inspiration and only a little about his inventions or ideas for new inventions. Nonetheless it is a concise and informative read for any fans of this often overlooked man.

I have always been a admirer of Nikola Tesla. His inventions and his talent have been unmatched throughout history, and even though many people ignore it, the modern world we live in today has many things to thank Tesla, even though other became more famous than him.
Listening to this book felt like a privilege. I found amazing being able to listen to his thoughts and the way he had to understand the world. His mind’s eye was something incredible, and his creative process left me completely astonished. It is such a pity that he didn’t get the fame and money he deserved, not only because he was a total genius, but also because he wanted to make a better world for everyone. He was a also visionary, predicting the internet and other modern inventions.
Stephen Paul Aulridge Jr. did an excellent job narrating this book, not only becoming Tesla, but also narrating the story in a compelling voice that kept me interested. He used a very subtle accent that made me believe I was listening to Tesla himself. It was just spot on.
The book is quite short, and left me wanting for more. It’s a must read for anyone into science or with a curious mind in general. The only setback I found is that it lacks the images present on the written version, and which are mentioned in the text.

Книга, прочитана за один сеанс у майстрині педікюра. Тут відразу збіглися декілька факторів, чому так швидко.
По-перше, бо книга насправді, невеличка і це суттєвий мінус, бо написана напрочуд просто й зрозуміло, тому так і хочеться її читати і читати далі.
А по-друге, бо, не дивлячись на назву, містить зовсім невеличкий обсяг саме опису винаходів, які по-справжньому створили саму натуральну революцію у технічному прогресі. Книга більше про те, як і чому Теслі вдалося стати найвідомішим науковцем. Він відверто розповідає про свої вади та острахи, але не фіксується на них самих, а повертає прожектор свого надпотужного мозку на те, як справитися із труднощами, розказує, що допомагало йому на його шляху до успіху.
Ближче до кінця він описує один зі своїх винаходів, який з’явився занадто рано у світі і тому не був сприйнятий суспільством. Але це і зрозуміло – Тесла вже на початку 20 століття говорив про те, що колись люди будуть без дротів передавати та слухати музику, милуватися зображеннями, зробленими за тисячі кілометрів ще декілька хвилин тому і обмінюватися знаннями по повітрю. Дивно, як його не запроторили за такі речі у божевільню, бо Нікола Тесла упритул підійшов до того, аби описати переваги інтернету.
В Тесли був розум майже надлюдини, тому його постійно трішки дратували люди, які не здатні були робити прості висновки чи дійти логічними викладками до розуміння природи явищ. До того ж, Тесла демонстрував неабиякі здатності до розуміння людської психології. З цього приводу навіть наведу його цитату з книги:

Тут він мав на увазі тих, хто намагається у першу чергу заборонити щось вживати – алкоголь чи тютюн – замість того, аби не звертати увагу на людські слабкості та спрямувати зусилля замість заборон на легку та не примусову популяризацію корисного.

A great read. Tesla's strange world view is a little strange at times, but Tesla was a smart man and if you want to know more about his world view, I recommend this book. I found out that Tesla wanted to reduce and reverse climate change, he thought the healthiest way to live was to eat only plant based foods. Tesla believed that in the future we could expect wireless phones and communication. He thought the time would come when aluminum materials would be used. He had many visionary ideas that the editors have compiled in this book.
