A rather simple romance but the balance of plot and smut was good and the kids were too cute
short and sweet but needed more reactions from FMC
Callie wakes up on a spaceship and is told she was abducted to help with repopulating another planet. The MMC’s brother decided to go kidnap some brides without permission and everyone feels all guilty about it. But I did not understand why the FMC felt guilty for insulting him when she woke up. Like… I think it’s ok to be bitchy when you’re told you aren’t ever going home again. She seemed determined to be kind to the abductors out of guilt. Because that’s logical.
Anyway, they seemed to have a decent relationship and the writing flowed well for the most parts.
Spice: 3/5
Triggers: abduction, brief child enslavement, gore and murder

I really liked this. I loved that the characters were older, one being 38 and the other 40. It was just something I've never read in a sci-fi romance before.
The plot was action-packed, always something happening. The characters were nice, but didn't get too much personality from them other than both having a strong desire for family and duty. But they had decent enough chemisty.
Well written and a fun twist on the genre. Solid read!

It was OK. There’s a lot going on and it felt like it should have ended at least three times but it went on. She’s kidnapped three times, for fucks sake! Save one of the freaking enemies for the next book, or something. And of course, we had to have OW drama that lasted for one chapter, and thank God it was resolved with actual communication. Still, it was so unnecessary, and it felt like that was there just to up the word count or something. Like it was originally written for one of those pay-per-chapter apps and the author had to add more chapters so readers would pay more. But hey, I finished it, so it was at least kind of entertaining.
I picked these up for Stuff Your Kindle. These were fun popcorn reads. Medium spice. There weren't much to them but the story was fun, the romances were engaging even with the insta-love trope in full swing. The story had Ice Planet Barbarian vibes but a little less robust and involved, also less spicy.
I really enjoyed them for what they are and would definitely recommend them. I am also looking forward to the next book!

Callie and Zak
Interesting start to the series. Nice development of feelings between the main characters. Good setup for more books. I'm excited to see relationships between the other warriors and females.

Bad sci-fi and world building will make me yeet an alien romance every time. All alien romance is science fiction but not all science fiction is alien. If you’re going to write alien romance, convince me of the world you’re creating. Don’t lazily write the alien tech scans earth to discover there is a breeding age population of females who are single, live alone and have no family. Really? Assuming all that info is digitized, the alien tech can scan “primitive” (your word) human tech to get all that info?
And ftr, the word “humanoid” would be used from the human pov because they’re HUMAN, not from the aliens pov who didn’t know humans existed until moments ago.
