I had a harder time getting into this book compared to others in the series. It’s about Daniel’s sister, so I was definitely expecting the magic of Ghosted but then couldn’t lose myself in the story as much due to the love…triangle? It was a fun book, and I will immediately move on to the next book, but I was not completely consumed like I was with its predecessors.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Wooooow. This is one of my top reads of the year. My absolute favorite book to read is romance with a splash of magical realism and this did that to absolute perfection. Every Sarah Ready book I read is better than the one before. This was such a unique plot, such amazing character development and prose. It was honestly perfection

Thank you to Sarah Ready, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks, and NetGalley for this ALC.

A time travel romance weighed down by too much plot.

Synopsis: Single mom, Fiona owns a high end watch manufacturer in Geneva, Switzerland. She comes into possession of a watch that allows the owner to “live their dreams”. As Fiona begins to dream of someone else’s life on a Caribbean island, she finds solace in the small community and healing in Aaron, a marathon swimmer with a traumatic past.

Review: The book starts with a long backstory and takes a lot of time to get going. Six chapters pass before the Fiona has her first dream. There’s just a bit too much going on— multiple traumatic events in Fiona’s life to setup her need for healing.

The love story is the best part of this book. Fiona and Aaron’s love through a dream, was beautifully written and kept interesting by the life happening while Fiona is away. But the author takes it a bit too far with a time travel pretzel and overly complicated characters.

Author Sarah Ready can describe a scene. She creates a beautiful island community and describes it so precisely the reader can see every grain of sand in their mind. This is nice as a listener, but adds unnecessary bulk to an already long story.

At 13h 34m, this audiobook feels its length. A little too long for your typical romance.

Narrator, Shakira Shute, has a very smooth style and lovely accent. She is easy to listen to. Her narration may be the only reason I stuck it out.

Fiona runs her family’s Swiss watch company along with her brother and best friend, and she certainly doesn’t have the time or desire for love. Or so she thinks. When she is given a family heirloom that allows her to dream her greatest wish, she gives it a try. In the dream world, she meets Aaron - who says that he’s her husband! Despite everything, Fiona realizes that she may be falling for him. Will Fiona’s dreams help her to find love in the real world, or does it exist only in her dreams?

The writing in this book was a real highlight. The descriptions of the island were vivid and Sarah Ready is a master when it comes to characterization and body language. I didn’t find the leading couple quite as charming as I did with the previous book in the series, but I enjoyed that the story had higher stakes this time around, and any feelings I had about the resolution of the story being a bit too convenient were overshadowed by the genuinely emotional reaction it was able to get out of me.

I thought the use of dreams as a way for the main character to un-inhibit herself was a fun idea, and the ambiguity about how it all worked made for a relaxing and carefree summer read. I would have liked to see a little more of the “real” world in the second half of the book, maybe have more details of how Fiona’s preoccupation with Aaron affected her life and relationships, but that is a small complaint. If you are looking for a quick, sexy, wish-fulfilling romance, this book is worth checking out. Many thanks to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the ARC. This is my honest review.

4/5 Lucid dreaming, or something more?

I’ve read the first two books in this series, so I was excited to see that another was coming out. I liked Fiona in Daniel’s book, but this one was confusing to me for the longest time. In the end, I understood what was happening but it took too long for me. I was so disappointed for poor Max, but I see he’s getting a book next so that’s a plus.

Thanks as always to NetGalley for the ARC.

This book was well written and so cute! I'm usually not into fantasy in my books, but I have loved this series. This one might be my favorite book yet in the series. This story is part reality and part whimsical as we meet Fiona, a single mom who works hard for her family's watch business. She's given a family heirloom which is a watch that causes her to dream. Boy are those dreams GOOD!!

The plot was so breathtakingly well executed. There were plot twists that kept me engaged and entertained throughout, and the characters were very well developed. I found myself racing through this book, while at the same time, slowing down so it wouldn't end. The ending gave me more than I was expecting. Great Read!

I loved how Shakira Shute handled the narration! I was fully immersed, and I loved the way all the characters sounded different.

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Fated by Sarah Ready is an exhilarating journey through fate, love, and second chances. From the very first page, I was captivated by the intense emotions and intriguing plot twists that kept me glued to the story. Ready masterfully weaves a tale where destiny plays the leading role, and the characters are thrown into situations that challenge their hearts and beliefs.

The characters, especially the protagonists, are richly developed. Their chemistry is palpable, and watching them navigate the twists of fate made for a deeply engaging read. I particularly appreciated how Ready portrayed their emotional struggles in a way that felt genuine and relatable. The plot is fast-paced, filled with just the right amount of tension and romance, keeping me eagerly turning the pages to see how it would all unfold.

Sarah Ready’s writing is compelling and immersive. She skillfully brings out the emotional complexities of love and destiny, making Fated a must-read for fans of contemporary romance with a touch of magical realism.

Overall, Fated is a heartwarming and enthralling love story about trusting in fate and finding love when you least expect it. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a romance that will tug at your heartstrings!

Just finished this and OMG it's nothing like what I was expecting. It really reminded me of The Space Between, the way the love story panned out, but it definitely fits so well into the Ghosted series. I gotta say it's been a while since I read the previous two books but love that we get glimpses of those MCs as side characters in the other books. We had a ghost, we had an exchange of bodies in a particle collision, we have a dream fulfilling watch, and I'm so excited for the next book (Wished). Sarah has seriously outdone herself, crafting these gorgeous books with the best kind of magical realism.

I adore the idea behind this book and parts of it were so brilliantly executed. This one chapter was such a rollercoaster- I was listening to it while cooking and just froze in anticipation, thankfully didn't burn my food. I wish I could say this was a perfect read, but I know it could've been executed better. See, i love the planning and plotting with the detailed characters (and there are a ton of them), the descriptions of the setting, and the pure, raw emotion poured into the story. But there were a couple of times I was super confused about the world building and took a me a good while for everything to click in place, so maybe a little bit of a pacing issue too.

Apart from this tiny hiccup, I loved this novel and hope this series never ends. I'll be sad if Wished is the last, but super happy for Max getting his HEA too.

PS: This is probably weird to add into a review, but the story reminded me of the story from the Hindu epics of Dushyanta and Shakuntala. I don't want to give away the plot of this book to those who haven't read it yet, but you can search "Shakuntala lost ring" if you're interested!

I loved this story y'all. Fiona finds her dream husband in her dreams. She's a busy single mom running a watch company and has little time for a vacation let alone a love life. When she's gifted a family heirloom that's supposed to let you dream your greatest desire, she finds what she never knew she needed but was hoping for all along.

I loved the jumps between Fiona's real life and her dream world and was on the edge of my seat every time she made the switch needing to know what would happen next. This felt like a very unique story and timeline.

The characters were all unique and well written being likeable, loveable and/or hateable accordingly.

The worlds the characters lived in felt real, whether it was the dream world or reality. I saw both the beaches and the snow.

I loved the audiobook narration.

Thank you NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing for letting me listen to an audio ARC of this beautiful romance. I can't wait to read more from the author.
