I literally hated Lori to the very last page. Quite interested now how the second books takes the story without her now..

There is something very good about this book that is HORRIFICALLY soured by its execution. Lori is one of the worst characters ever, obviously by design, and it’s actually compelling. And I understand extreme horror and splatterpunk but there are some things I genuinely believe don’t need to be written in such extreme detail. It would have been so much cooler if this focused more on the psyche, if it actually cared to teach Lori something or show us something more than wow look at how fucked up this woman is for no reason. But ofc it kind of takes the shock path and doesn’t go much deeper. Which is a shame bc I really do think the underlying story is so interesting
