I enjoyed this, though I think that the whole flash switching among various police calls on a busy holiday worked with mixed success. I enjoy the two main characters, though I wish that they'd had more opportunity for banter in this volume. Since I love sci-fi and cop shows, Fuse is one of my fun titles, since it is both of these genres.

"The Fuse: Perhelion" continues the strong run established by the previous two volumes in this series. This volume distinguishes itself by depicting much more of daily life on the Fuse, then we have seen before, as the reader follows the detectives on the toughest day of the year for a police officer.

Johnston & co. do an excellent job of balancing interesting mystery plots with complex worldbuilding. They drop a lot of character development breadcrumbs, though I'd love more. Rating volumes in the middle of an arc is sometimes difficult, but I'm interested to see how this plays out (given the somewhat surprising and definitely disappointing homophobia on display in Midway City in this volume).

The Fuse continues to be my favourite non-Marvel comic - I love the story, the characters, the setting!! The surprise at the ending of this volume was GREAT and I just can't wait for more.

Best volume of the orbital detective series so far with multiple storylines and sub-plots intertwining over the course of a single chaotic space station festival day. A mixture of Hill Street Blues and the great Judge Dredd storyline The Graveyard Shift and Ed McBain innnn spaaaace, this has two murders, a serial killer, terrorism, a hospital massacre and more, all filling the pages without ever feeling crowded, a remarkable feat of comics writing that wraps up as an extremely satisfying read.
