I read Hitchhiker's Guide back in the 80s and loved it, but I wasn't sure it would hold up. This time I listened to the audiobook, which is brilliantly narrated by Stephen Fry, and if anything, I enjoyed it even more this time. It's good, really good.

There were definitely super funny moments that made me laugh but I spent most of my time being super confused lol but honestly maybe that was the point

This book was very clever and there were moments that made me laugh. However, there was a lot of absurdity in the novel, particularly when it came to characters narrowly avoiding danger. I felt like this made the book feel low stakes because I knew that against all odds, the protagonists would be saved. I feel like as a result, I was not very invested in the plot or characters.
