In my honest opinion, I did not like Landon in the start at all. He body shamed people, judged everyone on their appearance and I think he even started liking Jamie only when he realised she could look cute.
But besides this, the story unfolded super cutely. I fell in love with their love. I fell in love with how the story went on. Everything was so beautiful. If it hadn't been for the first paragraph I wrote, I could have given this book five stars. Landon's character development and the way his love for Jamie grew was really touching.

I don't exactly get the hype. I'm not much of a romance person to begin with, but the guy's obsession with the girl's hair was excessive. The only real climax of the story where Langdon falls in love is basically when he sees Jamie with her hair down. In a white costume. Ummmm, I'm pretty sure someone like Langdon who's loved as a character has a bit more to fall in love with than the girl's hair. Also, there was a lot of bun-bashing going on... As someone who wears buns a lot it was terrifying.
Not that the hair thing was so big I thought it defined the entire story, but I do feel the plot in many similar ways lacked originality.

The narrator was more of a 12 year old boy than a 17 year old
Well at the very least I hope the internal monologues of 17 year old boys aren’t so simplistic “if you know what I mean”
A quick and easy read, but not particularly inspiring.

After I had seen the movie lots of times, I had to read the book. Now I know that the books written by Nicholas Sparks are often turned into a movie. But this book came as a surprise. The movie itself was already awesome and now I can see why.
The story is told by Landon Carter, when he tells you the story he is an old man. He tells you about how his life was turned around by a seemingly plain girl who talks a lot about god and who's father is the minister in the town.
