Katherine Center is a must read author for me. This book was not my favorite of hers, however it was still a page turning slow burn grumpy/sunshine romance. Add in a huge Great Dane that’s tackling you every time you encounter him and it makes for a humorously delightful read. It also dives into the work the coast guard does. I found this interesting because along with the FMC, I had really no clue what the coast guard did. There are so many lovable characters and lessons about body positivity woven through the pages. Definitely pick this one up!

I very much enjoyed the subplots of personal growth, particularly the FMC’s relationship with herself. I also enjoyed learning some about the USCG and the making of informative videos. The romance was super slow burn, and almost seemed secondary at times. The supporting cast, rescue dog, and their stories were delightful, though.
Graphic: Eating disorder, Car accident, Death of parent

✨ 3.5/5 stars ✨
This was a cute and fun rom-com. Katie is sent on a work trip and her focus is on Hutch (who just happens to be the brother of the guy who sent her on this work trip). She just has to shoot a promo video, so simple, right? But of course they catch feelings and it gets complicated and messy. At some points Katie’s inner monologue got to be tedious and I’d skim those parts, but I loved the interactions between her and Hutch, and Rue was an amazing side character! It’s a good read for the poolside or the beach. 🏖️

This was quick and cute. I didn't love the weird interlude of a bunch of characters lying for no real reason.

Unbearable writing. It's obnoxious and childish with nothing below the surface.
