I really enjoyed the first 200 pages of this book. When the 3rd act twist(?) happened, I was frustrated and annoyed. I didn’t like the direction the story went in because it felt like all of the progress Katie had made to that point was thrown to the wayside. And while I understand that's how life goes somethings, something about it just made me so mad I had to set the book aside for a few hours. Up until then I was really enjoying it and I really resonated with Katie, her struggle with her body was something I found very honest and understanding. I also enjoyed the ending. It was a bit wild, but it worked. Overall this might be my least favorite Center's books.

I want to thank NetGalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to listen to and review this book.

I thought this was a different and cute meet cute involving a member of the Coast Guard. I don’t read many books that talk about that branch of the military. I loved that the FMC had to pass swim and safety tests to be there and do the interview with the MMC. I loved all the aspects with the Coast Guard.

My only complaint is he didn’t really seem like he was a love hater like the book described. I know it was a misconception because of everything that happened with his brother. But some things just didn’t add up for me. Overall I enjoyed the story!

People don’t get Katherine Center like I get Katherine Center

TW: There is body image and eating disorder talk throughout this entire book. I feel like it was handled really well, but wanted to make note in case this may be difficult to read. I love that the FMC learns to love and accept herself in addition to falling in love with the MMC. The first half was a bit slow, but I flew through the second half. Clean romance.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! Katherine Center is so thoughtful in her writing and the message in this book was no exception. I loved that it was about so many types of love including self love. The characters were so lovable and I fell so hard for the MMC Hutch. I also in particular loved Katherine Center’s note to readers at the end. I love that she defends romance for being a true and important genre. She is such a great advocate for romance and romance readers. I know a lot of people were disappointed by this book but I could not disagree more and encourage everyone to read this beautiful story.

I usually like Katherine Center’s books, but this one missed the mark. Nothing worked for me. The plot was so far fetched many times throughout. I didn’t care for the main characters, especially Katie. I did love Rue, she seemed like such a cool lady! At least it was a quick read.
