3.5 — i see why Frankenstein is the better known of her works but this is still rly interesting; the pacing wasn’t my favourite, but it was enjoyable. also not a fan of the occasional casual racism.

Alongside Defoe's A Journal of the Plague Year, easily one of the most underread books in literary history. Everyone reads Defoe's Robinson Crusoe just as everyone reads Shelley's Frankenstein. Perhaps one of the most bizarre apocalyptic novels that contextualizes our modern obsession with apocalpyse, natural disaster, global epidemic, and the fall of social order. A must-read.

I’m a bit late with this review so here it goes.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Frankenstein and so I started reading more of Shelley (and also her mom’s as well). When I started listening to the audiobook of The Last Man, I forgot to notice how long it was and also I went through a lot of trauma during this time so I kind of put off reading for almost a whole year
