The disability rep in this book is fantastic. Having Ehlers-danlos, it was so nice to be able to actually imagine myself as the mc. The times when I'd normally think, 'oy, my shoulder wouldn't still be in place' during fight scenes and then having Violet experience that was really well done. Her disability was never forgotten about and if it held her back her friends would figure out an accommodation without ever making Violet feel guilty. All while making sure to include the inner battle as someone with a chronic illness to accept the accommodations and feel empowered by them. Really, really well done. This book was just fantastic. The dragons, characters, magic, sarcasm, banter and wholeheartedness of Violet and Xadan was just so good. I especially appreciated how Violet called people out for messed up things they said/did. She wasn't letting any emotional abuse or manipulation get past her, where in other highly popular NA books toxic characters are what make the book and is read with nonchalance. To wrap it up without any spoilers, this is a book that I hugged after finishing it. Which says everything about how good it is.

I have so many words, but the most important are READ THIS BOOK! You want adventure? Check. Fantasy? Check. Fantastic action sequences? Check. Badass MCs? Check. Great plot with enemies-to-lovers romance? Check. Dragons with cool powers? Check. Check. Check.
This book is everything and more and one of my favorite reads of the year (and I read A LOT of books). I’ve already seen this masterpiece of a book compared to Divergent, Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. But truthfully; those series don’t give this book the justice it deserves. It is truly all it’s own and I hope it becomes a worldwide phenomenon.
