I really loved this book!!

First of all, the setting was amazing. I love Europe, so being able to read in about such a wonderful place in such detail was so cool!! This book seriously made me want to live in my own foreign, French boarding school.

Even though it's set in Paris, the characters still managed to portray stereotypical highschoolers, which is definitely appreciated. I think this aspect of the story is what made the book even more realistic, because it definitely becomes obvious to not just the reader, but the main character as well, that teenage life in America and Paris is pretty similar.

It definitely could have been a 5-star read if the reader could have been given a little more. I feel like the beginning and middle went really slowly, and the ending was extremely fast. I wish we could have been given more time with St. Clair and Anna, and also more time to see how the other relationships healed and continued on (Anna and Bridge, Anna and Mer, Ellie in general...?). I also wish there was a little bit more of a backstory told for most characters.

definitely reread material ✅

This was a surprisingly good book. I was expecting a book that was extremely cheesy and that I would barely be able to finish. While this book was definitely cheesy, it was also a really cute read. I loved how all of the characters were full characters and not just worthless side ones.

Now some of my thoughts while reading this: (spoilers)

pg 66: Anna goes on about how her FAMILY MOTTO WAS ACTUALLY FRENCH! Couldn’t st Clair have just translated it? There was literallly no explanation for why that was so ch a revelation or even why there was a revelation

pg 70: Shebang? Shebang is considered fancy now? Girl your in Paris for gods sake shebang isn’t fancy no matter who’s mouth it comes out of.

pg 300: Can someone please tell me why tf mike renoylds (Dave’s friend) just peed in how shower bc he DIDNT WANT TO WAIT FOR THE BATHROOMS!? There are only 100 kids at your school it can’t be that long of a wait that you have to pee in the shower!!

pg 372: "Home, isn’t a place. It’s a person.” The fact that they are seniors in hs makes this phrase kinda weird like I would expect to hear that from my parents who have been married for twenty years not two teenagers that just finally decided that they both would actually be together and stop dragging on the other people that they have feelings for as well.
