I didn't really LOVE this book much tbh I think Defy Me was way better develop than this one. The ending did seem a little rushed though. Definitely not a 5 star book in my opinion I love the series and the author so 4.5 it is

Kenji carried this book wish he had more time with Nazeera though. Hated how Aaron acted in this book I hoped he would have progressed especially towards Kenji. As for Juliette I have mixed feelings about her character. The ending along with the epilogue felt kinda rushed and there were still a lot of questions I had left. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't spectacular either it was alright.

This series just feels so repetitive at this point, someone gets their mind wiped, Warner mopes, Someone is kidnapped, Kenji wants to save them, Someone betrays someone else, they all try to kill each other.  These books have become so formulaic and for a 450 page book it’s just boring at this point

This also reads so young, closer to middle grade a lot of the time, with the shouting at each other and quite simplistic dialogue, and then suddenly graphic violence like someone cutting their finger off? I just find it so inconsistent. It also has that common theme in middle grade where the adults are all either idiots or villains, and with how Castle and Nouria acted in this book, sometimes both, but in such a way that you could never believe that these characters are in charge of anything.

I managed to delete this completely from my bookshelves, along with my review. Well, I’m not doing that mistake again
