This is the weirdest read of the year. I'm just going to say that.

I didn't like the plot or characters, so I started skimming around page 180 and read a synopsis...imo a terrible conclusion to the ring trilogy.  I thought Spiral was the perfect blend of mystery, sci-fi, and horror, but Loop abandons that balance for mind numbing sci-fi that's barely related to the other books. It took about 100 pages for the ring virus to be mentioned, and nearly 200 for Sadako's name to pop up. The events in this story seem completely disconnected from the ending of Spiral. I think it would have been better to read books 1 and 2 and accept the ending for 2 as-is

It was my favourite of the three that I've read, as it finally brought all the threads together and explained exactly what was going on. I spent the first two books being a bit lost and confused and it was nice to have it all explained.
