”I like the thrill of doing things I shouldn’t be doing, like stealing sips from Dad’s liquor, coming home after curfew, and kissing Dad’s best friend. It’s a character flaw.”
Sorry but Gwyneth Shaw and Nathaniel Weaver’s was too weird for me. Age gaps are fine, I even enjoy them. However, when it’s rooted in ”I have seen you grow up”, ”I was her uncle”, it was too weird. Also, yes, she is a woman, 20 years old, and is in charge of her own decisions. However, 20 and 38? Couldn’t have made her like 22? 23?
The big thing that I felt was missing in their book was that we missed so much us them falling in love. The actives they did together to find is hobby wasn’t shown, and I feel like they would have helped me believe in the romance. Also, the fact that Nate declares how he was felt at the end of the book doesn’t track with his POV’s we have gotten (at least not to me).
So much in this book was just wrong. It’s not that the book isn’t for me. This book isn’t good. Sorry. I love Rina Kent but this isn’t hitting it. Also, the age thing about Gwen’s mother and father? 14 and 17? Isn’t that statutory rape?
