Magic, love, friendship, family, power, and pain all in one book.

"I'm an Aries." Hell yea, girl!!!
I really enjoyed the FMC, Annabelle. She wasn't perfect, she made mistakes, and she wasn't insufferable! And- she didn't let a man tell her what to do! Exactly! (Yes, I'm also an Aries.)
The descriptions of magic and magical assistance from ancestors was so cool to read. It was a lot, but not too much.
The BANTER?!?!?! Ugh, we live! The sexual tension between her and Jake? Amazing. And then Lukas?? I think Lukas is my favorite of the two boys.

The only thing: there's a zero communication trope. It was annoying, but thankfully it wasn't like a regular romance novel where it ruins whole relationships and third act break ups happen.
I was also surprised by the love triangle/not-love-triangle. It doesn't go the way you think it will go based on previous magic fantasy books.

This was a long story with a quite short ending.

All in all, a good read.

Witches, Werewolves, Cryptids. Nothing not to love. Once I hit the halfway mark, I could not put this book down.

If you’re looking for your next shifter romance, look no further!

Blood Soaked Earth is exciting, mysterious, sexy and magical, engaging from start to end.

Annabelle is such an easy-to-love MC. She’s headstrong, fierce, loyal and independent, almost to a fault. I loved exploring magic through this character, because we get to learn certain things alongside her. She’s not exactly new to magic, but a lot of it is still a mystery to be unravelled for her, which makes for a compelling character arc.

I also ADORED Lukas. There were a couple of moments where he had a bit too much “rich cishet male” energy for me, but I couldn’t help but be sucked in by both his charm and his pain. He’s such a fascinating, multi-layered character, and I always looked forward to his POV.

In fact, all the characters in this book are great, from Avery, the best friend, to Cora, the sort of anti-villain of the story.

The plot is also incredibly engaging, being a supernatural murder mystery, and I was hooked on finding out who or what was killing people and what the connections were.

Overall, a great addition to my spooky season tbr!
