Moooolto più scorrevole di [b:Il Signore degli Anelli|3324528|Il Signore degli Anelli|J.R.R. Tolkien|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327266894l/3324528._SY75_.jpg|3462456] (ho resistito due pagine e non sto scherzando!) e anche più semplice. Seguiamo le avventure di Bilbo e i nani nel loro viaggio verso la Montagna Solitaria. Non ci sono mai momenti di noia, le descrizioni sono evocative e, soprattutto, brevi. Lo stile è particolare: a tratti ironico, altri un po' troppo per bambini con interventi dell'autore per spiegare passo passo cosa sta succedendo, cosa è importante ricordare ecc.
Se la trilogia principale vi spaventa, questa è la lettura perfetta per iniziare Tolkien.

I mean there is a reason they call Tolkien the Father of Fantasy.

The Hobbit made me realize that most fantasy books i have read are basically entirely unoriginal and take heavy heavy heavy inspiration from all of Tolkien’s ideas. i mean the man invented the word “dwarves”. every time i think of amarantha from acotar being “queen under the mountain” i’m like….you stole that from the hobbit.

This book was SO CUTE and i would like to pay tribute to my homies Thorin, Fili, and Kili RIP y’all were real ones.
