Awful. Poorly written, done in such a fanfiction-type way Gibbs might as well have changed Autumn Rose for Y/N for the whole of the book.
Filled with sexism, misogyny, “pick-me” vibes and slut shaming all the way through. Spent most of the book feeling like the main character needed sectioning for her own safety. Horrific.
The half-British half-American language was infuriating. No one in Devon calls nappies diapers and UK school children do not drop the ‘s’ from maths.
Oh and the most irritating thing was Autumn deciding to strap her guardian sword to her hip for the first day at school and then spends two pages complaining about all the attention she’s getting and how many people are looking at her. Hello?! You’ve got a rapier attached to you! What on earth.
