As with all Ilona Andrews' books, the world building and plot in this are wonderful. They've done an amazing job of pairing the cosiness of a quiet B&B with their typical urban fantasies.

The characters are well thought out and nuanced. I appreciate that all their romances are slow burn, with an early focus on plot over romantic progression.

My only gripe is that this felt so short, but that could definitely have just been because I zoomed through it.

It’s has the vibes of Supernatural meets Ghost Whisperer. Not amazing writing but decent enough, it was a fun read. I thought the world building was super interesting and want to learn more.

This is a really fun science fiction/fantasy romp. I love the blending of science into the unknown of magic. My only gripe is how obnoxious Sean is at the beginning of the book. I am not a fan of hypermasculine threatening as a precursor to a possible romance subplot.
