i've been itching for more post-apocalyptic type stuff like this, and it delivered quite well, but some of the parts towards the end felt a touch shoehorned.. i hope things tie together in book two much better

This book really felt like a YA dystopia from 2010s, except for the fact that

it did not really have a love triangle.

It was shocking how similar the vibe was to Hunger Games knock-offs. The book was fast-paced and the plot was interesting, but unfortunately my YA dystopia face is in the past.
