P.S. From Paris was my first introduction to Marc Levy, but only a mediocre one. If he is the most popular French writer, I would have expected smoother prose and less of the jilted, almost amateur style the characters spoke in for the first three-quarters of the book.

By the last quarter, the plot picked up intensity and I became truly invested for the first time. Whether this was intentional or not I'm not sure, but the jilted prose may be more to blame on the translator than on the writer.

The title is a solid, entertaining read, but not groundbreaking.

I was curious about this since I love international fiction, but I couldn’t quite get into it. I wasn’t connecting with the characters and truthfully I didn’t see myself doing so, but hey, every book has a reader, it’s just not me for this one!

I had no idea the author was famous. It's a cute story that kept me reading.
