I thought it was great! Sarah Kuttner's last book - which only contained a collection of her essays - didn't appeal to me much but this one was a novel and Sarah Kuttner did a fantastic job on it. It deals with depression, a very sensitive subject that she managed to describe perfectly and realistically. It's scary how well I could relate to the main character Caro most of the time, like she had found the perfect words to describe the insides of my mind.
The story is told in a very light, often funny way without mocking the subject itself. I had to laugh out loud several times but also felt touched by the emotional moments.
Towards the end when all the talk about Christmas starts the book loses some of its fast pace and fascination, it gets better towards the end again though. Some shortening would've been wise here I guess.
Sarah Kuttner reads the audiobook herself which is great because I doubt that anybody could've done a better job on it than her.

So ein tolles Buch. Ich musste an vielen Stellen laut lachen, weil ich häufig genau so denke wie die Protagonistin. Konnte daher alles sehr gut nachvollziehen und musste es sehr schnell durchlesen

Ich fand das Buch ist mal angenehm anders an das Thema herangegangen. Der Schreibstil war mir insgesamt etwas zu gewollt lustig aber im großen und ganzen sympathisch. Auch das Ende hat mir gut gefallen da es etwas offen bleibt und keine plötzliche Heilung kommt . Es war ein nettes Buch um es schnell zwischendurch zu lesen und nicht komplett oberflächlich sondern lässt einen auch selber etwas über sich nachdenken ohne Mega in die Tiefe zu gehen oder richtig informativ sein zu wollen. Einfach eine Geschichte wie es einer Person ergangen sein könnte. Würde Ich empfehlen aber nicht nochmal ein zweites Mal lesen.

the way this book deals with mental health makes me so so angry. not only the writing style is super annoying and probably supposed to be super qUiRkY but it constantly undermines mental disorders, too. Depression, anxiety, panic attacks etc are super serious topics that can be dealt with humorously when it’s done right, but here it’s just not done right at all.
and i’m super convinced the main character has borderline to be honest. like everything about her habits and character traits screams borderline, which makes me even angrier, because that means the author didn’t even put that much thought into the character traits of her and didn’t research mental disorders. If she had researched more, she would have realized that she needs to change some traits, because the main character „only“ has a depressive episode and not a personality disorder.

Ich weiß nicht wieso, aber ich kann mit solchen Büchern nicht viel anfangen. Vielleicht weil ich sehr viel Fantasy und YA lese aber so ernste Themen .. naja mir fehlt manchmal die Lust so etwas zu lesen. Soll aber nicht heißen, dass das Buch schlecht ist, im Gegenteil :)
