I really enjoyed this. I thought this was gonna be a straightforward bank heist style story. Just a fight for survival, but it ended up being so much more than that. It was very dark and deep in a way YA usually isn't and I even found myself forgetting that this was a YA book. 
I don't want to give away too much, but I really loved Nora and everyone she franken-friended.

It was a good read, i just flew through it. I liked the characters and i really liked the premise and the general idea of the story. However it features some very heavy topics yet puts emphasis on less important things. Sometimes the writing felt juvenile. I get that she was a kid when all that happened so she couldn't feel the full weight of everything and she's still only a teenager but she kinda just brushed over the most impactful parts that i think that could've been taken more seriously. What i really liked was that she kept a lot of her secrets and only revealed what she had to not just to other characters but also to us as readers. it felt very true to her character

my favourite parts were when iris used the guy's ignorance on the female body as a weapon against him and when nora told iris to bury her feelings deep and wes corrected her

Brilliant book! I was hooked from the start. You can't stop reading it because you want to know what happens next and you're always on the edge of your seat. My only complaint is that

Raymond Keane didn't die in the end.

I bought The Girls I’ve Been out of curiosity. Going into this book, I thought it would be more teen drama than bank robbery.
I must admit this story was a pleasant surprise! It was fast and “always moving”. I did not expect it to be heavy on themes like child abuse, trauma or bad parenting. Nonetheless, that was definitely the most grabbing part of the story.

Considering the whole book, I realise I didn’t care much for the robbery or the motives. What I enjoyed most was learning about Nora’s past experiences, the girls she used to be, what they taught her, and how they shaped her into the person she was when that robbery occurred.

 I can’t wait to make this book my personality for the next three weeks lmao.

Absolutely amazing, really well written in every aspect and an incredible portrayal of what abuse can do to people and how it can come in many different forms.
