Emma Monroe is the bride that began this series and it's only fitting that her book has ALL the feels and the entire town rallying around her to bring one of Pippa's best works to life.
Emma goes off on her honeymoon, by herself, after dumping her groom at the wedding and the video of it goes viral. Ashamed and mourning the life she thought she was going to have, she's hiding, until one morning she trips over someone lying on her front porch. Her honeymoon takes an unexpected turn and she ends up leaving with an even bigger unexpected gift.
Fast forward a few years and Emma's life is close to what she imagined, minus the dead-end husband which she actually finds she's not sad about, and she is surrounded by the best friends and family she ever could have hoped for. Could she wish for more...not really...life is great until her honeymoon delight shows up in her small town.
Pippa crafted a book with so much love and light-hearted laughter, family and friends I want to be surrounded by, animals that made me smile, and a family I wanted to be a part of. Never once did I feel like Emma was lacking in love or drowning in loneliness. If anything when her mysterious man appears he only adds to her well of love and eventually brings her the happiness she really does deserve.
This book is lighter on the laugh out loud moments, but it's still has bright moments of laughter and Pippa's sweet touches are spread throughout. I desperately want a therapy chicken after reading this and yet I also know I could never handle one. That's the power of Pippa!!
Lastly, the epilogue is just about the best moment I think Pippa has ever included in one of her books. So, this is why I'm going to say, while this book can be read as a standalone, it really wouldn't hurt to read The Worst Wedding Date or The Gossip and the Grump first. But that is just a suggestion, especially to get hit right in the solar plexus by that first epilogue. Now, excuse me while I go and get some more tissues.

O went back and forth here in a 3 or a 4 and ultimately went with 3 because there just wasn’t a lot of plot. I also really never got over Jonas and what he did in Fiji and it was just sort of glossed over. The epilogues were cute though and I enjoyed where it wrapped up all the couples from the series. Hayes and Begonia are apparently the main couple in another book which made sense since they were an established cutesy couple in this one. I wish there was more info on when things were related and a “hey read this before this” type of thing

Kindle Unlimited. I REALLY enjoyed this book. I read it out of order and wish I’d started at the beginning of the series, especially is all are as good as this one. This is lighthearted and VERY FUNNY. The author was brilliant at capturing the voice and actions of a toddler. The drama in this book is low. Not super spicy but spicy enough 🌶️🌶️. My only criticism is that the words “penis” and “vagina” were used in the sex scenes. Huh? I think that’s a first for me. Sure, use those words when teaching your child body parts but in a sex scene? Weird. Small criticism though in what is otherwise a fantastic read.

I love Pippa Grant but this book wasn’t my favorite. Second chance and accidental pregnancy are not tropes I enjoy, because of that I felt like the story dragged and was way too long. It was very cute but it too me a way longer than normal to finish.
