One of my favorite books from middle school!
This book simply must be read. It is the perfect blend of the innocence of the nerdiness of childhood and the overcharged maturely and sense of sexuality that confronts one in high school. Honestly the best YA series I have ever read, though it does decline in quality a little towards the end. There are so many pop culture references that I am constantly gaining new insight every time I reread. My first time reading this I was in fourth grade- I am still loving it over a decade later. You'll get something new out of it after every reading, yet it holds the comfort of a candid childhood friend.
This had been on my to-read list for awhile. It was seeing Stephanie Perkins at a recent book event and reading one of Meg Cabot's other books that finally convinced me to knock it off my list. It was a fun book. Pretty different from the movie, I think the next book in the series may be in my future.

What great characters! Everyone is so unique and engaging. Mia's voice is fabulous. So glad I took the time to learn the real story--not just the one they portrayed in the movie. I am a die-hard Cabot fan. :)

as someone who looooves the movie i gotta say the book is better. Disney made it a lot more goody goody than the book actually is.
