This book made me feel nostalgic since I grew up watching the movie. Cute story and I love that Anne Hathaway read the audio version. It was a cute read that pulled me out of my little reading funk and just what I needed.
One of my favorite book series ever <3 Mia (and Michael *cough*) will always have a special place in my heart, and coming back to this first book brings back so much nostalgia and giggles.
Basically:
Mia= The best freakin' princess to grace the literary world and NY.
Josh= Fuckboys to avoid in life
Michael= Perfection
While 9th grade era Mia asks why no boys are interested in her, 12th grade me screams that they are not worth it O3O; Fin.

Boyfriend and I listened to the audiobook on our little road trip. I've always been curious about these books as I love the movies. while the book vs movie plot is very different I still found it very good and amusing. Anne Hathaway narrates this first book which made listening to it all the better.
If you have the time and want something light and fluffy this audio book is only 5-ish hours long.

you might be wondering am i adding a book that i read ten years ago to my good reads and the answer is no. i am very late to the game on this but here we are. tbh like there’s no character development or stakes at all and the movies do a really good job at fixing a lot of problems with the structure of the book and adding like... heart to them but also i read this and the second one in like two days and laughed A LOT and that’s worth something (still gonna go w three stars tho)

If you love the movies, you’ll love the books. Narrated by the one and only Anne Hathaway, this was such a fun, light, and nostalgic read where you don’t have to pay too much attention because you know the plot. Not usually a series girl or a lighthearted girl (lol), but will be continuing the series as a sweet lil bed time story.
