2.5

Good plot, nice writing. Good as a young adult, not really for an adult.

I must say that a good editor could do wonders. Many plot holes, incongruences, and a bit thinly woven in some areas. The character are pretty immature, too: I literally gagged (and my perceived score
 plummeted) when the main characters
kissed right after Joslyn's death.
it felt pretty shallow, immature and egoistic, moreover their relationship isn't exactly well built. We get told they like each other, but the author doesn't really make so we *understand* why they like each other. She literally
considered giving him a child just like 2 days after their first meeting only because she can. She provokes his KING various times as a crezed woman, with no sense of self preservation at all. She literally behaves like a 14yo,
for Gods' sake! I still give it a 2,5 because the plot is basically interesting, the writing is ok and even if it's a bit predictable, it has unique elements

Edit: I keep remembering weird things. For example
her mother gave her the leather armour the same day she left, but to create the last piece she would have needed at least 48 hours only to tan it. Or when she became friend with j. Like: we are friends now, period. No build up, no nothing. And j isn't even a little jealous of her, even if she's obviously the "spare" and everyone kept mentioning it.   .
The protagonist is in general too naif, lucky, daring, generous (for her upbringing), indecisive and pretty inconsistent. A nice light read but nothing more
