The author clearly did her research to accurately portray Sam’s OCD. This book provides an interesting window into the live of someone suffering from OCD and breaks down stereotypes often ascribed to those suffering from OCD. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a unique story or to learn more about mental illnesses. It was a quick read for me, it took three hours or so of uninterrupted reading.

every last word.
every last one.

this story spoke volumes within me. i’ve always loved words. the meaning of them, how simple phrases could mesh and flow together to create something with so much emotion. writing as always been a way for me to vent whatever was going on in my life, and i enjoyed reading sam finally discovering something that allowed her to become happy with who she is as a person.

this was a type of book i didn’t know i would like at first. i read the first couple pages and i didn’t really find it something i would seem to enjoy, but as i kept reading, i could feel how much sam wanted to change, wanted to become more confident that i felt an urge to witness the type of person she would become in the end.

i love romance, i really do, but a really good friendship trumps romance anyday. and when i kept reading about caroline and sam, i felt whole knowing how well sam was doing thanks to caroline’s help.

i loved how the author closed up the book. it took me for a twist, and it couldn’t have had a better climax.

i loved sam’s realization that even though caroline might have been made up in her mind, it didn’t mean she wasn’t entirely involved in changing her life forever. that scene where sam reads all of 2007’s caroline’s poems was my favorite part in the book. it made me feel sad, but happy that people after her got to confide in such a close group of people willing to show their vulnerability with each other.

what made the book so much better was sam’s final realization that she was caroline all along: the confident, smart, funny girl that was actually hidden deep within her.

okay, and lastly, the final ending where she had troubles making a poem for emily and caroline showed up for a split second. that made me happy.

it’s kinda weird not talking about romance in this review, but i just feel like the friendship in this book outweighed all the romantic scenes with aj. i wouldn’t have it any other way, honestly.

and after this book, i think three might be my new favorite number.

I thought that this book was really good and impactful! I am not sure how accurate it is about the part with OCD, but it still felt like she wasn’t over or under exaggerating it. I appreciate the fact that her main personality was her mental illness. She had other things about her besides that. I liked her and AJ’s story and the plot line of Caroline and the twist was really good.

it was sweeeettt
i too struggle with OCD, anxiety and depression. these things will probably always be a part of my experience, and while the main character's struggles didnt perfectly mirror mine, i still felt happily represented as my relationship with my mind has relaxed since ive been meeting new people, writing more, and falling in love.
it was comforting and i enjoyed it!

I think this book did such a wonderful job at bringing awareness to ocd/mental health. I appreciate the fact the author when to extreme effort to educate herself on ocd to make this book what it is. I also like that it brings light to anxiety and depression and kind of makes you feel not so alone. She shows the characters raw emotions and put a very good plot twist in the book. I was so engulfed in the book that I never saw certain signs. Very good writing and a very good plot! I’m in love with the book
