I absolutely hated this book, however, it’s personal and not against the author. 1) I have respect for the author and the theme 2) as a new reader (I read three books in 2023 and now trying to read 24 in 2024) this was a terribly re-entry to re-start reading for fun because of the writing style (for me) and though the language is beautiful, based on who you are - it was SO hard for me, again, as a born-again-reader 3) I ended up becoming invested in the character halfway through the book and needed to finish seeing where the journey finished; and as I did so the book got “better”
