Love & Loyalty

Tere Michaels

3.9 AVERAGE

4.5 stars. Such a sweet, fast and lovely story. What I truly love about this series is the raw emotions I get from them. This book followed a new set of characters, and I was a bit sceptic about that at first, but throughout the book I just fell in love with both Jim and Griffin.

Like I said, this series is so raw and beautiful. There's little erotica (okay a bit), but it's not overshadowing the beautiful romance that blossoms between each character. You really go through an emotional journey in these books. I'm jumping onto to book 3 now because I'm so addicted to Tere Michaels' writing. It's just beautiful and amazing.

Loved Jim and Griffin. The subplot was excellent and the whole story was engrossing.

3 and a half stars rounded out to 4. This chapter of the story features Jim Shea, detective in Seattle, whom we've met in the first book and Griffin Drake, film writer. Both have lived alone and without companionship for a very long time. Their journey towards trust and love is sweet and lovely. The whole Hollywood/film trope is a bit trivial but the characters made the story for me. I'm looking forward to future adventures of Jim and Griffin.

What a great series. It was good to find out what happened to Jim. I'm glad he got his happy ever after. This was an emotional book....I cried. But, it showed that people can overcome their pasts and that everyone desires to be loved and be happy.

This is a pretty average book, I'd say. Easily forgettable.

This is sort of the typical mid-life crisis kind of narrative where the protagonist is struggling with his career, social life - his life in general... until a guy comes it.

Knowing how short this book is, I expected more from it. Way more.
Spoiler There's also only one sex scene
. I love the chemistry, but the development felt too short. I swear it sucks that I couldn't be bothered with the ending. it was like... hmm okay.

Despite the return of the protagonist in book three, the rest of the sequels do not centralise the main protagonist of this book. I guess the author realised the fans are favouring the couple in book one more? I don't know, but for sure I'll be continuing this.

Once again, I was unable to get into the characters nor the storyline, for that matter. Nothing about this book grabbed me unfortunately. Jim is a workaholic cop and Griffin is a writer trying to make a movie that he feels good about. They seemed to make a nice couple, but everything was just so bland to me. I much preferred the first book in this series.

Fills in gaps in the series but books 1 and 3 will always be my faves.

I loved this book! After just a chapter into it, I looked it up here and realized it was book two in a series. But it looks like it was a spin-off of the first one, and this stands well enough on its own, and I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not reading the other book. Though I am definitely going to check the other one out!

This is a character driven book. I loved Jim and Griffin so much that I would have read about them no matter what the plot was. I do think the plot suffered a little bit, but that might only be because I was looking for a bit more of a showdown from my own guesses as to what the plot was going to result in.

Sweet and realistic romance that I highly recommend!
