Thrilling read. I didn't figure out the ending . . . I try not because I like to be surprised but sometimes you can't help yourself.

So I finished this earlier today and I didn't really know how to rate this book...At first I thought 4 stars and then thought 2 so I decided in the middle.

Overall, this was an enjoyable book. I loved the twist at the end, liked the build up to the main event, etc. Quincy's baking was adorable as well. I guess what really fell flat for me or more accurately what got to me was the over sexualization of women and the detailed descriptions of sex. It quite frankly grossed me out and the first scene where this occurs made me want to dnf the book. I didn't and I am glad I didn't but I really wanted to every time Sager wrote about sex. It was too much for me personally, so please be mindful of that if you want to read it. I loved the stories plotline overall and did get the slasher fic vibes, I just felt that something was off with the book. I don't know if it just grossed me out reading how a male writer describes girls or if Sager's writing style just doesn't vibe with me in those scenarios but it did make me feel gross. Since this is a thriller, I pressed on when I normally wouldn't when I feel grossed out by a book. Glad I got to finish this book, I love this trope a lot and I want to read a lot more of them, I just don't think this one was exactly for me. It was still pretty good even if it wasn't my taste and I recommend it if you are interested.

+ Quincy and Tina's friendship
+ Good pacing
+ Sager's writing style
- Coop wasn't a great twist villain, too little foreshadowing before the reveal
- He felt more like an uncle to Qulncy in the beginning; his romantic obsession with her certainly was a choice...
