100% better than the one its always compared to.

I read this book immediately after reading "TFGSG" by Grady Hendrix, just to compare them. (It was also my first Riley Sager book)
This is the definition of "Slasher Thriller," and I loved it from start to finish.
Overall, it perfectly captures the vibes of every slasher film set at a camp without a constant blood bath.
It's told in alternating first and third person POV: through the eyes of Final Girl, Quincey in present day, and a third person retelling of the events at Pine Cottage.
Thanks to this, Sager had me thinking i knew the truth at least twice before the end without ever making it feel predictable or getting boring.
The main character goes on such a mental journey that you can't help but root for her, even when things look absolutely terrible.
Even the worst characters were loveable in their own way, and i feel like the ending rounding the important parts off really well for everyone involved.
10/10 would recommend.

"Final Girls" by Riley Sager is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The story follows Quincy Carpenter, a young woman who becomes part of an exclusive club known as Final Girls after surviving a massacre that claimed the lives of her friends. When one of the other Final Girls dies in mysterious circumstances, Quincy's world is once again turned upside down, and she finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about the past.

Sager masterfully weaves together a tale of suspense, mystery, and psychological intrigue that keeps you guessing until the very end. The plot twists and turns are both shocking and satisfying, keeping you hooked with each new revelation.

What sets "Final Girls" apart is its exploration of the aftermath of trauma and the complexities of survivorship. Quincy's journey to uncover the truth about what happened that fateful night is both heart-wrenching and empowering, making her a protagonist you can't help but root for.

This novel is perfect for fans of psychological thrillers who enjoy a mix of suspense, mystery, and compelling character development. If you're looking for a chilling and thought-provoking read that will keep you guessing until the final page, "Final Girls" is the book for you.

My least favorite Sager book so far. The characters were beyond annoying and the ending wasn't my favorite.

Boy, when I tell you I would’ve NEVER seen that plot twist coming. I thought I had everything figured out and I was so very wrong. Riley Sager is a genius I’m convinced. I really liked this book although I found it hard to read just due to the nature of it and other crimes that have happened in real life similar to the story line.
