The plot thickens. Can Nathaniel and Clarissa overcome their personal issues enough to help our three captive heroes in Paragon? I found Nathaniel to be much more aloof than his brothers and sister and I never really warmed up to him as much. All the tension and uncertainty surrounding Paragon, their mother, the prophesy, and everything else overshadowed the romance a bit. It helped that Nathaniel and Clarissa had an existing connection, so this was a second chance for them. This book also had a different slant than the ones before in that Nathaniel wholeheartedly embraced his dragon side and the magic he had and built a community on Earth based on that. All-in-all, I really enjoyed this book, their romance, and I'm excited to find out what happens next.

I just couldn't like Clarissa. I hated her for the first chapters, and there's not enough on the page to believe the change of heart. It was like a switch flipped and she was a different person from one chapter to the next. AND still I didn't like that person, just tolerated her. Thankfully, she's not on the page that much. There's too much going on with everyone but the main couple, and their "romance" feels like it's there to check a box or something. Definitely not a standalone, since you need to know the whole story from the previous books to understand what Is going on. I like the story and most of the characters (Except Clarissa, Nathaniel deserved someone better. Hell, I like Aborella better, and she's one of the villains!), so that's why I give this 3 stars. If judging for the romance alone, I would give It 2.

Another fantastic book in this series! This time, we meet Nathaniel, a dragon bookseller who dabbles in witchcraft on the side. Quite by accident, his sister Rowan, and Raven's sister, Avery wind up in London and contact an acquaintance of Nate's regarding an old manuscript of dragon lore. The acquaintance tips off Nate, not because he knows their link, but because Avery bears a strong resemblance to Nate's ex-girlfriend, Clarissa, a pop star who uses her magic to enhance her voice. Meanwhile, Raven, Gabriel and Tobias are imprisoned in Paragon and trying to figure out the Empress's plan for them all. Some loose threads I'm hopeful will be tied up neatly as the series goes along. And I'm thrilled to see Avery finally growing as a character. Can't wait for Book 6.

This is the 5th installment in the Treasure of Paragon series. OK, this is the best one yet. Seems that every time I read another book in the series, it's the best one, but this....wow. I love the dragon magic, the story, the ongoing saga of the egg, now called "Lil' Puff" - but what really hit this out of the park was the detail in the Puck ritual performed to try to get Clarissa's magic back, and, well, it was super hot! The narrative including the descriptions of the surroundings was done very well, could almost taste that blood orange :) The detail of the Obsidian Palace in Paragon was almost as if you might be standing on the black obsidian floors - If you haven't had a chance to read the beginning of the series, you might want to start there. This might be ok as a stand-alone, but the character development in the earlier books is important. Sit back, enjoy the read - and be kind to yourself!

Gripping

Another brilliant read. I loved the setting and that the story included Avery too. The tension between Nat and Clarissa was perfectly written and the plot fast paced and exciting.

This was just as awesome as the previous books in the series. I read this book in one sitting and I enjoyed every twist, turns and action packed into this story. I am very super excited for the next installment.

I would also suggest reading the series in order because 1. it is satisfying. 2. because I think they all intertwin with one another, but then again they could be read as standalones.
