The events of Collided overlap those of the first book, Throttled, but shift the perspective to different characters. This makes the plot a little too predictable to my liking. The added insight into Sophie' and Liam's characters is nice, altough it feels somewhat insignificant to the whole group of F1 people in the series: the others were given barely any time to shine during this book (just enough to hint at / build a shaky premise for the next sequel). I think the main gain here is to see
if/how
Sophie's fuck it list
gets completed
— so if you're here for the smut and a (tropes:
friends to friends with benefits to lovers
) love story, you'll get what you bargain for, but otherwise this book is easily skippable.

I think I’m a Dirty Air girlie 🤭

Collide follows almost in tandem with the events of Throttled and breaks down the relationship between Sophie and Liam. Liam is terrified of loss and Sophie is looking to make her life a bit more worth living, but their arrangement sets them off toward a path of inevitable romance and heartbreak. I though this was cute and the dynamics weren’t what I expected at all. I’m looking forward to Wrecked!

the writing felt slightly better here but i don't think that's saying much. the main characters were both insufferable (sophie was NLOG and liam was an annoying asshole) and the dialogue was cringe so i'm just proud of myself for not DNFing. i'm hoping the last two books are better but at this rate i should manage my expectations.
