4 1/2 stars. As another reviewer said, it starts a little slow but picks up quickly and held my interest to the wonderful ending. I may have to go back and reread the other books in Owens story.

A wonderful dark whimsical witchy tale. I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Fantastic book. Alway engaging, never knowing where it was going. Great writing, amazing characters.

This was my first read of the series and I decided to start at the beginning rather than in the order they were written. It is a well told story of Hannah, Maria and Faith Owens as they live life and practice their nameless art. The novel combines historical fiction and magical realism in a very enjoyable way. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I have watched Practical Magic so many times yet never read the books.
This one was on my tbr shelf for forever and I'm glad I finally picked it up. Really enjoyed it
Think I might have to buy the rest of the books to see if I like them as much as I like the movie
