this is my review for the entire thing.
the panelling, layout, framing, etc. is the best thing about this series. other graphic novels try to do something inventive with their layout but mainly just do different sized rectangles. this one really goes all out almost constantly.
the rest of the art is decent, except for the characters themselves who look like they've had some weird blurry rotoscoping effect. it was a stylistic choice, but i don't like it.
the first half gets 5 stars for the story. it starts off as a mixture of rural gothic horror, mixed with suburban supernatural conspiracy theory. plot wise, the second half is an absolute mess. the main big bad spooky monsters go from lurking in the background to appearing in every other panel. characters are constantly just running from one place to another, and where they are/where they're going is unclear because it leans into some Marvel-tier multiverse shenanigans. there's time travel because why not? you've thrown everything else into the plot. nothing is really explained and most plot points either have no conclusion or are just abruptly discarded. it even ends with a literal wink wink nudge nudge maybe it's not over yet ;) ;) ;). the problem is, you can't just read the first half, because it's all set-up, so you have to read the rest of it and get disappointed, just like me.

First, I would like to start by saying I love a good graphic novel! "Gideon Falls" did not disappoint!
I loved the fun of it, but felt like it was slow at times.

Take the map, you're going to need it

It is definitely a trippy adventure and an enjoyable art style.
