Finally, Charlie’s book! This is the girl that loves doing other people’s homework and has absolutely no interest in boys or romance. I loved how well fleshed out she becomes in this book. She comes across as fearless to her friends, but it’s because she hides the vulnerable parts of herself. Her parents are always fighting, and that’s the real reason behind why she doesn’t want a boyfriend or a relationship–because of the “drama”. Like with the others in this series, Charlie does a lot of growing up in this book. The author does a great job of having the heroines in this series figure out their problems, with the help of their love interests, but they don’t become co-dependent. In this story, Charlie maintains her independence–but learns that it’s okay to lean on others for help sometimes.

A sweet romance about a geeky girl and a movie star who transferred to her high school. It was really interesting as it inverted certain stereotypes. I liked the male lead - he was a sweetheart. I liked the fact he was Korean and that his cultural background and family were celebrated as well. The female lead was lovely as well and I related to her a lot, but I felt there was a little overkill when it came to her obsession with homework.
