Slow to start, and it’s not like so much happened when it picked up, but it was brilliant, and I’ll be reading it again soon. A beautifully creative, and heartfelt essay (but don’t be discouraged, soooo much more engaging than an essay!) on what it means to be of value … to others and yourself. The world-building is unlike anything I’ve read before. The rhythm of the prose is poetic, yet simple and efficient (weird word for poetry, but meh) … So much imagery coursing through a book of so few words! A masterclass in thoughtful and deliberate writing. But that’s all so technical, and this isn’t a book about technical. It also made me dog-ear a ton of pages to come back to, and it flippin’ made me cry. In a really weird spot. So, you know, hurry up ‘n’ read it.
