I remember as a kid enjoying these mysteries. We decided to introduce our almost 9 year old to a classic. Although the books are dated in so many ways, we didn’t want to read the new revamped ones. My son (10) and daughters (8) and (5) listened intently as the mystery unfolded. While they wouldn’t fly off todays shelves, they clearly have stood the test of time. I’m amazed that three generations (My mom loved them as a kid too!) have all been able to enjoy them. The only other series my kids have been this tuned into is Harry Potter.
I have read this a few times. Staring the series over from the beginning. Just enjoyable!

I read the Nancy Drew books when I was young and recently picked up the first box set on sale. This was a light enjoyable read and I can’t wait to start on the next one!

2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge prompt: A book from a series with more than 20 books.
It's hard to rate a Nancy Drew book because these were so instrumental to my childhood, but it's true that the detective genre has evolved since 1930. Our cultural portrait of a "cool teen" has also changed dramatically. On re-read, there isn't much of a mystery in this one - everyone seems to know that there is a second will, it's just a question of where it is. The characters are pretty one-note, too. But...River Heights is as charming as always, and one thing about Nancy Drew is that good is always going to triumph over evil, so I'm still here for this as a feel-good quick comfort read.
This is a great book about an eighteen year old girl detective!☺☺☺
