HANNAH don’t read this review.

4 star series, the second and third do have a LOT of spice for a YA book even if it is 16+. Honestly the third book felt like an anti-climactic to-do list.

Really satisfying conclusion to this trilogy, which frankly could have been a duology & would have worked much better that way. The first book was was too slow but this one was great. I’m glad I continued after the first book.

I enjoyed this last installment of the series. The plot moved to a conclusion, secrets were finally revealed, and we got some great relationship growth scenes between several of the characters. Most of the "plot twists" I saw coming even in book 2, but there was one nice surprise at the end!

That said, the plot did not move the way I was expecting it to. Wrath is still cursed, so of course he cannot tell us the secrets. Same for some other characters. Enter Vittoria. Manipulative? Yes. Villain? Not the way we thought! She really carried the plot. I'd go so far as to say that Vittoria was the best character in this book. Her character development and depth made me cheer for her, and I loved how her relationship with Emilia was explored. They fought and loved like sisters!

The supporting characters were fun, especially Pride and Envy. They were more complex in this book, and I like the little bits of history we got about them. I want their stories! Also, Gluttony is my baby and he must be cherished. He just wants to sit and read his books and how can you not love him? Lust was funny and irreverent, and that one scene with the gondola made me laugh out loud.

On that note, Emilia and Wrath's relationship and relations were definitely the focus of this last book. The tension exploded, and they could not keep their hands off of each other. I was expecting this, so it didn't really bother me, but Emilia did kind of annoy me with how she seemed to just forget about everything else when she thought of Wrath. I did absolutely love Wrath. I mean, how can you not? He gave Emilia what she wanted and needed, paid attention to her likes and dislikes, and gave her choices and freedom. They were kind of adorable. Insufferable, but adorable 🥰

That ending though! Kind of reminded me of The Gift of the Magi
but I literally cried when Wrath shared his power with Emilia because he knew how much it meant to her, and because it showed that his power was no longer the thing he valued most 😭

From start to finish this book had my heart. Every time Emilia called Wrath “husband” I felt my heart melting and growing simultaneously. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It was beautifully written and gave us the spice that we had been desperately craving. Although it didn’t have a ton of super descriptive spice, I could appreciate how the book maintained some of its roots as a YA book. This for sure is a NA book, don’t get it twisted! However, it was relatively tame to what it could have been, and I found myself appreciating that. Even with the addition of many spicy scenes, the plot stayed consistent and I never found it lacking. Wrath and Emilia will forever be one of my favorite couples, they’re just too cute. I can’t wait to see if Kerri decides to expand on this world with other characters as the main focus. I will read each and every book with the same love that I did this trilogy!
