Forgiveness!!

A Life To Live is the first book I have read by this author, it will definitely not be the last. This was a quick read about forgiveness and how awesome the God we have is. This story made me cry at the beginning, throughout and the end. Parts of this story I felt like was my life. I highly recommend this book to all.

This was my first read from this author, and I enjoyed it. Both of the main characters irked me at times, but that's part of what made it such a good read.

`A Life to Live` is a short contemporary Christian book by author Toni Shiloh. The female protagonist, Mia, lost her mother to breast cancer. Her mother and she had originally made plans to travel the world together. Now it is up to Mia. Her mother left Mia with enough money to travel the world for one year. All her bills were paid, and she was set to go. It was time for her to live her life. Mia noticed that none of the passport attendees smiled, so she made it her mission to be as friendly as possible.

It was interesting to see that her stay was at a B&B, instead of a hotel. My hubby and I stay at a B&B for our anniversary, every year. Her first B&B was in Nottinghamshire, England. The theme for this B&B was Robin Hood, complete with a Maid Marian room, which was near the Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle. The British language was used sparingly throughout the book but it was easy to understand as the word was defined as you read further.

While in England Mia saw a friend she knew from America. He wants to start a relationship with her, again. Is the spark still there? Would she tell him about her past? Would they work things out? I felt involved with the characters especially while they were learning to forgive each other for their past mistakes. As humans, we all have made mistakes we need to be forgiven of.

I was very satisfied with the ending and would recommend this book to fans of contemporary fiction.

Well written, Gorgeous Setting, Sweet Romance

I enjoyed this book. I loved the scenery and the way Toni described it immensely. The B&B was a super lovely addition. The romance and relationship was sweet. It was a well written book. It dealt with hard topics, which I greatly appreciated, while still bringing in the truth of God's Word. Overall, very enjoyable! Will be reading more by this author for sure!

This book is a romance which is not my genre of choice. I read it because is was a book club pick. As is the case in all the other romances that I have read, the writer takes unrealistic scenarios and turns them into a happily ever after moment. The book was an ok read, although half way through, I started not to finish. It will definitely be a long while before I read another pie in the sky romance novel.

Good

The resolution was a bit quick and pat, but I did enjoy the premise and would have loved it to be twice as long! I only gave it 3 stars because of the resolution and “rushed” feeling I felt as it wrapped up.

This is a beautiful story of dealing with loss and learning to live beyond the pain. The author brings her characters through some pretty tough stuff and shows there is hope. These characters are just like many of us. Often, we hold on to pain or grief so long that we can’t heal. Even though that pain and hurt out there, God desires to heal those hurts, and give hope for the future!
The author, Toni Shiloh, has a wonderful way of writing touching stories that speak sweet lessons of life. Her stories flow with great dialog and wonderful word pictures of places, people and relationships. Each one has a realness and honesty that brings the issues each of her characters deal with, in a relatable way.
As a reader, I am always touched by what she writes.
I totally enjoyed reading this book, and I highly recommend you pick it up to read.
