I’m so fortunate that A) this book exists, B) I added it to my TBR, and C) I got to read it. I don’t even remember how this ended up on my TBR, but I’m glad I did. This story is slow, layered, and beautifully written

An awesome vampire reimagining that doesn’t shy away from the inner darkness of the people, even the ones we’re supposed to root for. Motherhood, monsters and more book quotes than you can imagine; I recommend for anyone who wants to read about fairy tales and how “real” life isn’t one.

First half of the book flew by, I was totally engrossed in the world of book eaters. Between the action scenes and the psychological chills this book had my full attention.  Sadly, the ending was rushed and a bit choppy. We're also left with unanswered questions, may be the author was planning to write a sequel?

This was mesmerizing. I really appreciated the worldbuilding, and even though I doubt a sequel would be likely, I'm really interested in seeing where these characters would go.

This book was much paced much slower than my usual reads. Even though I didn’t read it straight through because of the pacing, I loved every minute I was reading.

Incredible, flawed, queer anti protagonist & her “monster” child who I could not help but adore.
