Continued with an interesting story line but moved more slowly...
Such a shame I feel as if this book deserves four stars but throughout the whole story I felt as if I were being dragged through. To me the plot didn’t get interesting until the last 15 pages.
This was a chore. I think it was probably a good book in 2011 but in 2023, I expect my FMC to be a bit stronger.

This book might have been 5 stars if it weren't for two things: the canyon was far too long and then by the time I grew interested in it, the ending was suddenly there and felt very rushed. I have questions that have not yet been answered but I'm sure they will be in book three.
